[A hour block of upbeat dance remix fades into Zaizen's voice]

Those of you who aren't drunk in a ditch or asleep, thank you for listening to the one to two Saturday Night Final. Your usual host has fucked off to Hokkaido to see her family, so you're stuck with Wednesday radio for the next hour. I don't particularly feel like slopping out your much beloved top forty -- so listen to me make some calls or change the damn channel.

[Turns on Alice Merton's lash out while he dials]

[Can't help but smile on the phone, thinking about how grumpy Akaya must look. There's a note inside the Tekken case that says "put me back where I belong"]

[knuckling]

Did you get your leftovers mixed up with my stuff?

[food in question safely stowed, he drags his feet over to the tv cabinet]

[with a smirk in his voice]

Everything is where I put it.

[In the Tekken spot in the TV stand, Zaizen left a cute wallet size of the two of them in Paris -- Zaizen isn't quite smiling but they both look very happy. The picture is face down so Akaya will see the message first: "Open my guitar case." ]

[knuckling]

[he smiles sleepily at the photo, sliding the case back into place and- wait, hang on, why is this photo even here?

okay, finally he's realised that notes around his apartment aren't exactly usual. that said, he's still tired and suggestible so he follows the instruction anyway.]

What's goin' on...

Who knows?

[Although he's starting to question it, he can hear Akaya moving around. In the guitar case, there's a post it with some little headphones drawn on. "Check the first song on my newest spotify playlist" ]

[knuckling]

[obediently, akaya puts the call on speaker so he can look at his phone screen and bring up said playlist.]

Aren't you meant t'be working...

[xyzai]

[The playlist itself is "Nerds" and the first song in it is "Mirror in the Bathroom" by the English Beat]

I am working... [says softly, wondering if Akaya will extrapolate that they're on air]

[knuckling]

[it's 2am and he is an idiot. chances seem... unlikely.]

Good. Y'better not have left marks on the mirror, man...

[the note he plucks off leaves no marks, thankfully.]

[The note on the mirror says "Go back to bed, idiot, and look in your pillowcase]

Well, you won't see my drawing until you shower.

[knuckling]

[at that, he gives the mirror a suspicious squinting glare... but is too tired to experiment with the hot water now. plus the instructions say bed again, which sounds good to him.]

Better be somethin' cute and not, like, a dick.

[there's the telltale whumph of body meeting mattress again and a shuffling noise as he rifled through his pillowcase for the last note...]

Oops.

[Zaizen does not sound at all repentant. The note Akaya finds isn’t much more apologetic. In fact, the side that Akaya sees first simply says “Nerd” with an arrow indicating to turn the paper over]

[the other side of the small index card says 好きです。]

[knuckling]

[the first side of the note has him making a tired, irritated whine that stops abruptly as he turns the paper over.

there's a pause as suddenly he feels quite awake, cheeks suddenly alight.]

[muffles a snicker before he ends up hiccuping on the radio]
